Donate to Catholic Health Care for Those with Chronic and Special Needs

ArchCare’s singular mission is one of its greatest strengths: to provide holistic care to frail individuals and others with chronic illnesses and disabilities who are unable to fully care for themselves. Guided by the values of justice, inclusiveness, respect, integrity, benevolence, humility and spirituality, ArchCare serves over 10,000 individuals per day through its nursing homes and community-based services.

About Our Hospital Chaplaincy Program

ArchCare’s Health Care Chaplaincy Apostolate works to ensure and strengthen Spiritual Care to Patients and Residents in Hospitals and Nursing Homes throughout the Archdiocese of New York.  It is our mission to ensure that all Catholic patients in the Archdiocese have access to skilled and compassionate sacramental and spiritual care.

The Chaplaincy Apostolate recruits, trains, assigns, and manages priest healthcare chaplains at 39 health centers (25 hospitals and 14 nursing homes).  We also set standards for formation and provide clinical supervision for all priests serving in healthcare including those who are employed directly by a health center. Our Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program is accredited by the Association of Chaplain Educators and provides two extended units annually at Calvary Hospital and The Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center.

The cost of this vital ministry exceeds $1.5MM annually.
